Academy Conversion
The Gryphon School became an Academy on 1 August 2012. This follows an unanimous vote by the Governors of The Gryphon School for this change. The Governing Body is committed to retaining the core features of the School. The educational benefits for the students, staff, parents and wider community were the key factor in the decision to change status. Academies are publicly funded independent schools which receive their funding directly from the EFA (an agency of the Department for Education) rather than from local authorities. The Gryphon School is a company limited by guarantee, registered in England with Company Number 08130468.
