Sports Centre

The Gryphon Sports Centre in Sherborne is a community facility based at the Gryphon School. We offer a wide range of activities for all ages and abilities. Plus a fitness suite, sports hall, exercise studio and fully floodlit artificial turf pitch at affordable rates. We also host children’s birthday parties and sports competitions and events.

The times for community use of the centre are as follows:

Monday 4pm – 10.30pm

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 5.30pm – 10.30pm

Friday 4pm – 10pm

Saturday 9am – 6pm

Sunday 9am – 10pm

During school holidays the Centre is open during the week from 8.30am to normal closing times and at the weekend as above.

The centre has a Fitness Suite, Dance Studio and a four court badminton Sports Hall, all available to use as a member or on a pay as you go basis.  There is also a fully floodlit sand based artificial turf pitch for hire as a one off booking or as a regular club booking.  The Centre also provides a fantastic Children’s Holiday Activity Scheme for children aged 6-14, and offers a number of after school clubs and courses.  For more information visit http://www.gryphonsportscentre.org.uk/ or phone 01935 814011.

As well as some of the region’s top employers, we also have a number of other organisations attending on Wednesday. The Samee Project is a unique and inspirational social enterprise that aims to promote self-employment and freelance working as viable career options to young people in school education.

Chris Wilkinson will be on the stand to talk to students and parents – he was awarded an MBE for his services to the Police. He is also an Animal behaviourist and dog trainer and a Patron of the SAMEE Charity.
