Kinder, Happier Dorset Online Event

We know that many young people have struggled with their mental health during 2020, and we want to make sure more young people are equipped to look after their own mental health and are able to support others with their mental health too. That’s why we’re starting 2021 with an exciting series of evening ‘Keep Connected’ workshops to help young people stay better connected with their own happiness, enable them to feel less lonely, and help them spread some happiness to others too!

Workshop dates and times

The workshops will take place on Zoom every Monday from 18 January to 22 February from 5.30 – 6.30pm. Places can be booked at:

What young people can expect?

During each ‘Keep Connected’ workshop, a professional facilitator will share ways in which you can boost your own happiness and, through kind actions, can share happiness with others, and help combat loneliness for yourself and others.

The topics for each week are:

·         Creativity – 18 January 2021

·         Mindfulness – 15 January 2021

·          Physical activity – 25 January 2021

·         Food and Nutrition – 1 February 2021

·         Nature – 15 February 2021

Our final session on 22 February will be a culmination of everything we’ve covered during the previous weeks.

Who’s attending?

We’re inviting students from across Dorset to attend the workshops. Students can attend just one workshop but they are very welcome to attend them all!

We’re also delighted that professionals that provide services to support young people eg Dorset Council, Dorset NHS CCG, National Citizen Service, will be attending too.

What happens after each session?

At the end of each session, we’ll be providing everyone who attends with some important ‘take away’; tips and hints on how you can keep yourself happy and share kindness to help others combat loneliness too, as well as a Keep Connected Self Care Plan.

The Grand Finale

On Monday 22 Feb, everyone who has attended the sessions is invited to join us for review of all the sessions and will go away with their own self care plan.
