MFL Speaking Competition

On the 15th July we held our first Key Stage Three Modern Languages Speaking Competition. 32 students made it to the final round and took the stage to perform a speech, poem or little story of their own creation. The finalists’ families joined us in Quarr Hall to celebrate their children’s achievements. The young people made us very proud, showing great courage and skill in speaking a foreign language in front of an audience.

We would like to thank all the young people who took part in the event and give special praise to our winners: Henrietta L (Year 9), Bella W (Year 8) and Leya J (Year 7).
Thank you to our wonderful catering team who provided the refreshments, our IT support team who made sure everything ran smoothly on the night and the site team for getting the room ready to receive guests. Thank you to Mrs Bugler for her help and support in organising signs and to the staff of the Modern Languages for organising and running the event with me. Thank you to our Headteacher, Mrs Edwards, for taking on the role of judge and supporting the event.
