Deadline for applications

  • via the Applications link on the Sixth Form page of the school’s website.  Please complete all sections thoroughly.
  • References focusing on academic potential and achievements will be requested for all students.

 

 

Week commencing 5th February                

Interview week – internal students Monday – Thursday

External applicants – interview day on Friday 9th February (whole day event)

NB – Interviews for some students may take place after half term, dependent upon availability

THIS WILL NOT INCLUDE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS

 

Week commencing 19th February

Interviews continue as necessary

 

Friday 9th March

 

A letter confirming the offer of a place at The Gryphon Sixth Form will be posted to successful candidates by this date. Students who have applied for a scholarship will also find out whether or not their application has been successful by this date.

Friday 27th April

One copy of the above offer letter must be signed and returned by this date if you wish to accept your place.

 

Thursday 28th June

Induction day: Students will be able to sample real lessons in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy a range of activities led by our student leadership team. You will meet other new Sixth Form students, Tutors and the Pastoral Team.

 

Thursday 23rd August

GCSE Results day.  Details of Enrolment Day will follow.

It’s less than a week until our Careers and Degree Apprenticeship Fair! Gryphon students will have the opportunity to meet the employers during the day, but there is also an evening session (4.30-7.00pm) when you are welcome to come back with your parents, and it is also open to the public, so any young people in the area who want to find out more about career options are welcome!

*Careers & Degree Apprenticeships Fair – Wednesdsay*
As well as some of the region’s top employers, we also have a number of other organisations attending on Wednesday. The Samee Project is a unique and inspirational social enterprise that aims to promote self-employment and freelance working as viable career options to young people in school education.

Chris Wilkinson will be on the stand to talk to students and parents – he was awarded an MBE for his services to the Police. He is also an Animal behaviourist and dog trainer and a Patron of the SAMEE Charity.
