Gryphon Sixth Form Students Celebrate Fantastic Results
The Gryphon School is proud to announce another year of exceptional A-Level results, reflecting the talent, dedication, and hard work of both students and staff.
An impressive 54 students achieved at least one A grade, with a phenomenal 16 students achieving three A’s or higher in their exams.
The school has maintained an impressive average A-Level grade of B-, underscoring the consistently high standards of teaching and learning at The Gryphon. The school also had a 99% pass rate for A*-E across all subjects.
This year saw exceptional subject-level achievements, with 100% of students achieving grades A–C in Art, Computing, English Language, French, Spanish, Religious Education, and Health & Social Care.
Science was another major area of success, with 94% of Chemistry students, 90% of Biology students, and 78% of Physics students achieving grades A*–C. These results highlight the school’s academic breadth and strength across both creative and STEM subjects.
Student Roger D Souza achieved A*s in Chemistry and Maths, and A grades in Physics and Further Maths. He said “I’m pleased to have done a little bit better than I thought I would, and I’m excited to be heading to Bristol University to study Computer Science”.
Lilly-Mae Fletcher was also celebrating, with her AAB grades, as she has gained a supply chain apprenticeship with TKMS Atlas UK, a major submarine company. Lilly said “My results were much better than I thought, and I don’t feel as stressed any more!”.
Toby Bowers gained an impressive four A* (Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science and Biology) and an A in his extended project qualification (EPQ). Toby said “I was worried but I’m now really happy with how well I’ve done”. He is taking a gap year and is hoping to study Maths at Oxford.
Bella McKenzie has gained a place at the prestigious Italia Conti drama school in Surrey to study musical theatre. She said “I’m really excited, my dream is coming true!”.
Charlotte Tweedley gained A grades in Ancient History, Photography and Sociology, and an A* for her EPQ. She said receiving her results today was a relief, and she will now be heading to Durham University to study Ancient History and Archaeology.
Emilie-Grace Watts was also celebrating after achieving A*s in Biology, Chemistry and her EOQ, as well as an A in Maths. She said “I’m very happy, and proud of myself”. She is going to the University of Bristol to study Biochemistry.
Congratulations should also go to Evie Williams on achieving top grades of straight A*s across Biology, Chemistry, Maths and her EPQ.

Head of Sixth Form Laura Rowe said, “The results the students have achieved are truly a reflection of their intellect and endeavour throughout their two year A Level journey. Their willingness to put in the hard work required for their personal outcomes all while balancing their own growth as young adults has been simply wonderful to experience and both support and celebrate alongside each and every one of them. These wonderful outcomes for our students have opened numerous doors and opportunities for their futures beyond their A Levels.
81% of students have accepted places to their chosen universities including; Architecture and Optometry at Cardiff, Computer Science at Bristol, Ancient History and Archaeology at Exeter, Animation and Pharmacy at Portsmouth, Engineering at Warwick, Veterinary medicine at Nottingham and Fashion Design at Birmingham City to name but a few. Ben Rutter has secured an engineering degree apprenticeship with Rolls Royce and Leya Johnson has secured a degree apprenticeship in accountancy with KPMG to mention just a couple of the students opting for different routes.
