Gryphon School: Sherborne

Do you need additional help with costs arising from staying in full time education?

Students who need financial help to stay in education can access support from the 16-19 Bursary. You may be eligible for a bursary if you/ your parents are in receipt of any of the following:

  • Free School Meals
  • Income Support
  • Child Tax Credit
  • Income Based Job Seekers’ Allowance
  • Employment Support Allowance

16 – 19 TUITION FUND

The 16 to 19 tuition fund is a £96 million fund, ringed fenced for schools, colleges and other 16-19 providers to support small group tuition for students in English, Mathematics and other courses where learning has been disrupted due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Gryphon School is eligible to receive £3,754. from this fund for small group tuition. The Gryphon School will use this funding to support learners who did not achieve Grades 4 or above in GCSE English or Mathematics. Tuition will take place in groups of no more than five students and will be prioritised for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) or classified as disadvantaged students.

Chaplain Yvonne has safely delivered the Christmas cards written by Year 11, to Bev the Activities Co-ordinator at Abbey View Care Home who will hand them out to residents this week!
