Gateway is The Gryphon School’s bespoke Internal Alternative Provision, supporting students with complex needs who may be struggling to engage fully in mainstream learning. Led by the Associate Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion and delivered by highly skilled teachers skilled in relational and trauma‑informed practice, Gateway combines tailored academic learning with targeted social, emotional and mental health support and practical vocational learning opportunities, through our holistic LIFE programme. Students access structured approaches to emotional regulation, reflection and goal‑setting, with carefully planned pathways for reintegration into mainstream lessons wherever possible. Gateway is a high‑tier inclusion intervention rather than a sanction, designed to re‑engage learners, strengthen relationships and improve long‑term outcomes through a calm, structured and supportive environment.
