The Sherborne Area Schools’ Trust (SAST) was formally established with the Department for Education on 1 June 2017. This new local primary/secondary multi-academy trust includes seven schools serving our local community: Buckland Newton CE Primary, St Andrews CE Primary (Yetminster), Sherborne Primary, Sherborne Abbey CE Primary, St Mary’s CE Primary (Bradford Abbas), The Gryphon School and Thornford CE Primary.
The schools have been working together over the last two years to design and agree the formation of the Trust. The governing body of each school consulted with parents and recommended its formation. Collectively there are 2700 pupils from 0-19 years, a large specialist workforce of 184 teachers, 292 non-teaching staff and a combined budget of £13.2 million expenditure. We are intending to develop our provision, share resources, enable further training of our teachers/staff and take collective responsibility for all of the children’s development and progress. A focus will be on securing and managing the budgets and facilities to sustain high quality provision.SAST Letter to Parents June 2017Download SAST Proposal - Executive Summary Feb 2017Download Sherborne Area Schools' Trust MOUDownload Sherborne Area Schools' Trust - Development StrategyDownload Sherborne Area Schools' Trust - Scheme of DelegationDownload Sherborne Area Schools' Trust Proposal GuideDownload

As well as some of the region’s top employers, we also have a number of other organisations attending on Wednesday. The Samee Project is a unique and inspirational social enterprise that aims to promote self-employment and freelance working as viable career options to young people in school education.
Chris Wilkinson will be on the stand to talk to students and parents – he was awarded an MBE for his services to the Police. He is also an Animal behaviourist and dog trainer and a Patron of the SAMEE Charity.
