Poetry By Heart 2026
This week, we held the Gryphon’s Annual Year 7 Poetry By Heart Competition with fantastic performances from 8 competitors.
As part of our Year 7 English lessons, students have been learning a range of inspiring poems off by heart and performing them in front of their peers.
This group of finalists did a wonderful job on stage in front of all of Year 7 and will receive a headteacher’s commendation. The winners will be entered into the national Poetry By Heart Competition for the chance to perform their poems on the stage at the Globe Theatre, London in July!
