Course Content

Year 12

  • Half Term 1: Teacher 1: La Familie – the Imperfect tense,  the Perfect tense , the Past historic – Teacher 2: La Musique – interrogatives,  imperatives, the Subjunctive, the Conditional
  • Half Term 2: Teacher 1: No et Moi – the Gerund, ce qui/ce que, the subjunctive, linking ideas – Teacher 2: La Cyber-société – Infinitive constructions, object pronouns, the present tense regular and irregular verbs
  • Half Term 3: Teacher 1 and Teacher 2: complete modules from previous half term and mini PPE
  • Half Term 4: Teacher 1: Le Bénévolat – use of connectives, Si + Imperfect structure, Conditional and the Future tense  – Teacher 2: Le Patrimoine:  Adjectives, si sentences, avoiding repetitions, describing pictures, the subjunctive.
  • Half Term 5: Teacher 1: Les ados, le droit de vote – the Passive voice,  the Subjunctive – Teacher 2: Le Cinéma – Infinitive constructions, summary from list, si sentences, persuasive speech, conjunctive and subjunctive, writing skills
  • Half Term 6: Teacher 1: IRP – teacher 2: revision, exam practice, PPE week

Year 13

  • Half Term 1: Teacher 1:  Politique, manifestations, grèves – Future tense, passive subjunctive, subject / object pronouns, relative pronouns, demonstrative adjectives pronouns – Teacher 2: La Société Diverse – present tense, future tense, conditional
  • Half Term 2: Teacher 1: La Haine film study, essay skills – Teacher 2: Les Marginalisés – imperfect tense, perfect tense, pluperfect tense
  • Half Term 3: Teacher 1: La politique et l’immigration – imperfect / perfect tenses,  future perfect / conditional perfect, variety of tenses  – Teacher 2: Les Criminels – past historic tense, si clauses, infinitive constructions
  • Half Term 4: Teacher 1 and Teacher 2: revision from y12 and y13 coursework, practice paper, exam skills
  • Half Term 5: Teacher 1 and Teacher 2: revision from y12 and y13 coursework, practice paper, exam skills

Homework

In KS5 students will be set weekly homework by each classroom teacher from a variety of sources such as Seneca to practice key vocabulary / structures / grammar / exam style questions, Printed booklet / electronic versions –  containing exam style tasks on the modules covered , vocabulary learning/revision

Kerboodle and AQA enrichment worksheets on modules covered in class, Use of authentic resources –  such as videos, news links, for enrichment, Essays practicing written skills, IRP independent research project as part of the students’ end of Y13 speaking tests.
