A new numerical grading system and tougher exams have been introduced in England, with traditional A- being replaced with grades 9-1, with 9 being the highest and the equivalent of an A**, and an 8 equating to an A*. The Gryphon has outperformed the national average again, with 21.6% receiving the top marks of 7 or above, compared to 20.3% nationally. The proportion of entries getting a grade 4 (old grade C) was 78.7% at The Gryphon, significantly higher than 67.3% nationally.

Pamela Peacocke, Head of Year 11 said “I am absolutely delighted for our students, we’ve worked closely with them but they have put in a staggering amount of work – which has really paid off! It is lovely to see so many happy, smiling and excited faces here today!”
