Bronze

Bronze timescales – It will usually take you at least 6 months to complete your Bronze programme.

– Volunteering section: 3 months

– Physical section: 3 months

– Skills section: 3 months

– Expedition section: 2 days/1 night

In addition 1 out of you 3 sections (Volunteering, Physical & Skill) of your choice will have a duration of 6 months. It’s your choice which one and, though you can change your mind later, you should decide which section you want to do for longer at the beginning. Knowing how long you’re going to do it for will help you to choose your activity and set your goals for each section.

Walks and Expeditions –

Training Day 1 – Local Area

Bronze Practice Expedition – 2 days & 1 night (Close Supervision)

Bronze Final Expedition – 2 days & 1 night (Remote Supervision)

Choosing Assessors – Once you have picked your section idea’s you will need an assessor.

An Assessor must be over the age of 18 and INDEPENDENT. Therefore cannot be a family member. Their role is to check your progress using your evidence and agrees the completion of the section being over seen.

Who can be an Assessor?

An Assessor can be anyone who is interested in helping you to achieve, has some knowledge of the activity you are doing and can be available over the time you’re doing it. They will produce or sign off the relevant Assessor’s report for that section, which is uploaded onto the DofE website – https://www.dofe.org/assessor/

Uploading Evidence – When a section is approved you can now start tracking your progression using the form 3 below.
